Observation details
10:50 am. Initially photographed by my friend Kathy J. and correctly identified by Bill D. (Upon entering pic in Merlin app, it was not identifying either its song or photo as it is extremely rare in Niagara). Call was loud and rich. Warbler with broken eye rings, blue-grey on head and back; black streaks on back. Deep yellow throat, yellow belly with light black streaking along sides. Spent much of its time in tangled overgrowth close to ground and around logs. Observed by many! LIFER! Possibly first recorded in Niagara region?
