Observation details
The group was approaching the meadow when we first saw a lone hawk carrying prey (see photo). Then, a second hawk appeared. It seemed to be chasing the first hawk. They soared to the south end of the meadow, on the Coliseum Drive side. We suspected there may be a nest there. But, then, the first hawk sailed back across the meadow, leaving me to think it was engaging in Territorial Defense. Of course, that is a bit speculative, but I based it on the observations of a teacher who watched it closely.
