Observation details
This bird was calling about every 30 seconds but it was difficult to determine if the bird was a migrant or not. The call sounded faint at first coming from roughly southwest and then got louder a minute later before fading out northwest after another minute. It sounded like it was flying over but possibly very high up or potentially circling. The call sounds superficially like King Rail as Aidan Kiley noted. Comments from NFC experts and a King Rail bander also strongly suggest the calls are from a migrant King Rail. Timestamps for calls: 0:10, 0:42 and 0:23, 0:58 Other checklists with calls for comparison https://ebird.org/checklist/S171788410 https://ebird.org/checklist/S163352242 https://ebird.org/checklist/S165293125 https://ebird.org/checklist/S140707878 *perfect example at the beginning
