Observation details
Heard first then seen. Didn't have my camera but was able to get fantastic looks, audio, and video that I'll try to share from my cell phone. Gold cap, gold stripe on wings, black throat, and mask. Very vocal bee, buzz, buzz in series of 2, 3, and 4. I went back for my camera, tried to help others find it, but it was across the river. I got some decent documentation photos and some screenshots from the cell phone videos. I watched the bird for over an hour in all. It was a great day for warblers, and I was able to add a terrific yard bird. I'm now at 171 species on my property. I got an audio recording where you can hear the golden winged warbler at around 18 and 44 seconds. The other audio is a little better with the warbler being singing several times. The image of the recording shows 4 short, thick bars each time it sings.
