Observation details
Narrowed this bird down to either a Gray, Dusky, or Hammonds but the bill seemed a bit too large for a Hammonds. Differentiating between Gray and Dusky is still outside my skill set so I asked here https://m.facebook.com/groups/whatsthisbird/permalink/7394593150589347/? and Gray seemed to be the favorite identification, but I’m open to alternatives. Update: reviewer corrected this and it’s a Dusky: “Gray and Dusky can be hard to separate, but this bird's bill doesn't appear long enough and doesn't appear to have the usual contrast in the lower mandible that is seen in a Gray. The bill appears rather uniform in color, more fitting for a Dusky. A Gray should show a lower mandible with orangey-yellow and a contrasting blackish tip. I also think a few of the photos show a rear peak rather than the typical rounded head of a Gray.”
