Observation details
Breeding plumage. Large and stocky shorebird. All dark relatively straight bill, much shorter than that of dowitchers or godwits. All dark straight bill further rules out all godwits, Whimbrel, and Curlews. Distinctive dark legs rule out yellow legs. Found by others at the tip of Bateman Island. See photo.
