Observation details
Two hammond’s were flying around a group of coniferous trees(mostly near the tops). I was on a trail, uphill from the trees. I watched them for about 10 minutes, trying to get a good view of them. They were clearly behaving like flycatchers, swooping out of the trees to get bugs in the air from above the trail. They were grey with distinct white stripes on their wings. They had a white ring that almost circled their eyes, but not fully. They did not have any yellow color on them. They sang quite a bit, and Merlin also identified them. The attached recording contains mostly them chirping. The best calls are at about 2:40, 2:49, 2:55, 3:00 and 3:09. There are good call throughout though.
