Observation details
Observed for 2 minutes before flying away. The bright rufous auriculars, and bold black streaks from its throat all the way down the breast told me instantly this was a CMWA. The bird was silent and was foraging on my mature Walnut tree. I have a history with CMWA on my property. On May 11, 2021 I documented one on the same tree (with much better diagnostic photos)! Could this be the same one? I will attach one photo I was able to obtain with my phone and binoculars. I have been trying to relocate for the past hour with no luck.
