Observation details
We heard two distinctly different night jar calls and even seen them flying but due to low light around that hour, we couldn't take a photograph. We were certain it's savanna night jar as the call is very different from the large tailed night jar which is common here. We even played call in low volume from Merlin to match if it's savanna. We also saw the bird taking short flights around the river bed. And that's when we also saw the white patches in the tip of the wings but not on the tail which is the case for a large tailed night jar. And the call is a very distinct chrree-ik and not like the clicking sounds of a large tailed night jar.
