Observation details
Continuing bird. A diminutive-sized gull in full breeding plumage with a black head, broken white eye arcs, and a scarlet red bill. Dark gray upperparts, very faint pinkish hue on chest and belly and carmine legs. Observed foraging for small crustaceans on the sand midway between lifeguard tower 33 and the waterline. This bird did not appear bothered by the people on the beach and stayed in the same small area for the full one hour plus I was there. Very accommodating to be photographed. See photos. Very similar looking to a full plumage adult Laughing Gull I saw in Jarvis Sound, New Jersey.
