female in nest box opening. Chicks inside. She spends most of day in box opening given the heat.
Observation details
Nest with young, feeding at night. Been observing them past week usually around sunset when the start to feed the young in the nest box. The male spends most if not all of his time now out of the box in an overwatch position. Given the heat and chicks inside the nest box she perches most of the day in the box opening, retreating occasionally back into the box. Recon hard to thermo regulate the nest given the high temps. Fortunately nest box is in full shade. Finally spotted the male today about 20 yards from the nest box. See photos.
