Observation details
Unfortunately I was shooting directly into the sun. I was originally fooled by this bird due to the bad light conditions. I thought was seeing black flanks, light color near the base of the bill and dark central back feathers etc. while looking through my scope. This bird was about the same size as a LEYE. Shape of the body and bill were different than both species of Yellowlegs walking around it. It was the only bird in the pool that wasn't active. Viewed for about an hour waiting for it to start moving around. Very strange to me.
