Observation details
*Rare. An adult(!) which may explain why it came earlier in the season than the subadults we usually see at the end of May. Distinctive shape with long slender pointed wings and long tail. Solid gray underneath with primaries slightly darker. Dark tail with no banding. Migrated over at 12:38pm with some of the first groups of broad-wings as the weather cleared up after the morning fog. At this point Kim and I were standing near our cars deciding when to make the move to Frisbee Hill and the kite glided over just to our left then soared with some broad-wings over the tree line behind us before continuing on.
