Observation details
Heard. Rare designation as it is early. I searched the treetops to get a glimpse and could not locate, but I recorded the call with Merlin b/c when I heard it, I recognized what sounded like a Blackpoll's 4-6 (rising then falling) high single pitched "tink" notes (or once described to me as banging/tapping on a high pitched metal wind chime pipe). I did a little online researching of differences in Blackpoll and this bird has the slower song that seems to be more consistent with East coast Blackpolls. However, I would be interested in other ideas, as maybe this is a truncated version of song from another warbler. I would have preferred to see it to confirm my ear.
