Observation details
Male singing (coo-coo-coo) for 10-15 minutes, and a single kek-kek-kek-kek response. Saw one fly (kicked myself as I hit the 'off' button instead of the on to take a shot) but got a lucky second chance when this male briefly stuck his head up, before flying to another reed bed himself. Will see if I can get the recordings off - I think this is my first time recording LEBI song, so will post if it is recognizable. Saw the initial one fly (not a good enough view for gender ID), second was the photographed male, but there was another male singing a way off in another direction, so a minimum of 3 bitterns. Sadly, after reviewing my Merlin recordings, I realized that the Boat-tailed Grackles completely overwhelmed any vocalization from the bitterns, so no recordings.
