Media notes
Yellow underwing is the main reason we decided that this is an immature male (despite mostly female plumage).
Observation details
Seven weeks ago (16th March) we reported a male and female Red-legged Honeycreeper in our garden. The two birds seen today again looked like a pair but the ¨female¨ was an immature male (dusky wings and yellow underwing; see attached photos) and hence have corrected the 16th March 2024 check list.
