Observation details
Was tipped off by Merlin Sound ID; a bit skeptical as its recording wasn't clear what it heard, but tracked down a song I hadn't heard before, and there he was! (Hillside S of Lewis Brook, close to Kunkel Park) Spent probably 45 minutes tracking him down and eventually getting very good views, binoculars at 25-100 feet; always feeding in the ash trees (fortunately some are still alive and leafing out), from 15 foot level on up to the crowns. First views were from below so clearly saw the bright yellow belly, thick black necklace and body striping, white rump and tail with a black tip. Much later I did get side views and could confirm the white eyebrow and wing patch. A very handsome bird. And turned out there were two (realized watching the first one, not singing, and hearing singing nearby); second one had a slightly different song with a short buzzy end note. Tracked that one as well, mostly obscured by foliage but did get a few good looks to confirm it. Audio saved here (the clearest) is from the first one.
