Observation details
Early. Three visually seen simultaneously, two on lower half of briar thicket and another vocalizing from nearby tree. Heard buzzy - buzz trill as soon as stepping onto trail leading to known breeding fields. Very active vocally calling in unison. Small tan and gray bodied sparrows with substantially long notched tail. Small light colored bill and unique facial pattern with distinct gray collared nape making this quite the handsome species. Earliest reported date at this spot with Joel Strongs finding earlier today. Great to know this has been a consistent breeding location now for over the past ten years. Testament to good quality habitat. Photos and Audio TBA.
