Observation details
Heard the bird, saw it fly quickly. BirdNet confirmed the song as did Merlin. (Neither of which are 100% dependable, of course.) I heard it as an unexpected, unusual vocalization. Could well be an odd house finch, that would make sense. But it did not behave like house finch that sing and sing and sing, and are not at all hard to relocate. In the end, I don’t know but sounds like blue grosbeak. I won’t cry if I’m wrong with all the apps.
