Observation details
A sudden Prairie, heard well then seen. Heard buzzy zee zee zee up ahead in trees while walking hillside forest path toward prairie area, thought it was the usual field sparrow, but the closer I got the clearer I could hear, sure enough, the rapidly ascending notes of the prairie warbler, who was singing just above my head for a few seconds before he flushed and flew down to small still leafless tree in the open near the prairie edge down by the tall grass maze, where he continued to sing in clear view out on an exposed perch for a good minute or two, a slender black and bright yellow fellow, flickering his tail, a song quickly climbing the scales and riding the wind.
