Observation details
A very frustrating bird that called several times in a dense set of wet thickets on a backwater of a small river. It was an odd sounding bird and I got some marginal recordings...in the same area were white throated, swamp and song sparrows plus a Northern waterthrush, didn't sound exactly right for anything...thoughts are a slow, short swamp sparrow song, an aberrant song sparrow song that is just odd or a prothonotary warbler. Try as I might I never got a look at it and it progressively worked deeper in toward the river.
