Red Crossbill Type 2
Observation details
Photos do show some with large bills and heads, a characteristic of Type 2's. Also, the end part of the audio is when the birds lifted up from the ground (where they were eating Douglas Fir cone seeds or perhaps some consuming grit) and the flight calls documented there show Type 2's as well. Most of the audio are the birds interacting/fighting each other over the food source, so unclear if the audio can ID any other types. It seemed in the moment there was more than one type present.
