Observation details
Seen feeding on the southern grass bank of the northern pond until one of the work vehicles pulled over right across from it, to work on a blue colored tractor. It flew off toward the NE and I could not relocate it for almost 2 hours. First seen at 9:22 a.m. I did not have time for photos. Buffy looking upper parts, head, breast & belly. Dark streaks in cap, nape & mantle. Scaly feathers with darkish centers and sort of buffy edges. Dark eye with whitish orbital ring. A kind of squared off head with a steep forehead and black bill. Legs were yellow. I was lucky enough to relocate it in the same spot at 11:05 a.m. and had plenty of time for photos. Hopefully, others will get to see this beauty. When I left at 11:25 a.m. it was still there.
