Media notes
A (presumed) pair of what are now known as Utcubamba Tapaculos are vocalizing spontaneously in the distance—giving both the trill and the series—from near the ground in high temperate forest shrub at the edge of good temperate forest near the pass at Abra Barro Negro. The best (long) cut of the song is in response to playback of the first cut. Background includes: Chestnut-crowned Antpitta. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, with a Sennheiser series mic with a Mineroff booster & foam windscreen.
