Observation details
Huge V flying over our heads while standing by the pond. Could hear the geese calling and we were able to identify species with their vocalizations. This goose migration north has been going on heavily for last few weeks or more. This must be an amazing number of geese heading to Alaska and the North. The reason we see so many here might be because they are just rising up from the Refuges and Sacramento valley and are gaining altitude when they fly near Mt. Shasta but continue on a trajectory much higher up to make it to the Alaska and Northern Canada.
