Observation details
Possibly continuing (although last one photographed was a female type). Very worn molting individual found in Shuttle Pond. Small brownish blocky head slightly peaked towards front, golden eyes, round white face dot near sides of dark bill, whitish neck and sides, some thick black loose “stripes” on scapulars almost forming a confusing spur of Barrow’s (but I think a molt issue is exaggerating the black at the front). Bleached tail sticks up like a Ruddy Duck’s. Photos.
