Observation details
A shocker! I wasn't expecting to see a crossbill when I saw what I thought, at first, was an usually red male House Finch. They were approaching the deck water bowl where a robin was taking a bath; luckily, I was sitting on the deck 15 feet away. They elected to drop down to the yard level to a solar water fountain a couple times and then eventually take a high perch in a tree with another female. I think they were probably attracted to the yard by the deafening singing from the Cassin's and House Finches, Pine Siskins and Lesser Goldfinches. Yard bird #97.
