Observation details
This female Passerina was along the east (right) side of the entrance road just beyond the Sanddollar intersection. It was around the white wooden fence, sort of associating with a group of four Blue Grosbeaks. It appears to be a good candidate for a hybrid Lazuli x Indigo Bunting; wingbars and considerable buff along flanks like LAZB and fine streaking on underparts like INBU. There is a spot or two of blue like a female INBU might show. The image is rather poor and heavily cropped, and I could not get a good look at the dorsal surface. There are very few images on eBird/Macauley for females of this pairing, but note Marshall Iliff's April 2013 bird from High Island: https://ebird.org/checklist/S14026780 I would be eager to hear from anyone who has experience or has worked with or published on this pairing.
