Observation details
Continuing. Drab sparrow with essentially unstreaked underparts (but very fine breast streaks visible in photos). Pale eye ring, dark postocular stripe curving down around auriculars, slight buffy supraloral, fine streaks on crown and nape. Singing distinctive beautiful song. Photos and audio recordings. Matt and Sara were there with the sparrow when I arrived. It hid unseen for maybe 15 or 20 minutes at a time, and then popped up and sang several times, then flew a short distance away and repeated that pattern. Once it did a short low skylark-flight while singing.
