Observation details
Hunting over the water, also perched in a tree. Took several attempts over 45 minutes, but he got the fish and flew back towards Miller Park nest. The Osprey was sitting very near the spot where the Bald Eagle (nesting on this lake) also perches. The Osprey kept glanching around in the direction of the Eagle's nest. After the Osprey caught the fish and flew in the direction of Miller park with the fish in his talons, I hopped in the car and drove to Miller Park to see if this Osprey was indeed bringing this fish to the female on the Miller nest. I didn't expect I could beat the flying Osprey to Miller park, but I thought I might get to see them both eating the fish. However, when I arrived at Miller Park only the female Osprey was on the nest and she was sleeping. So I thought the Osprey that had just caught the fish at Staring must have a different nest somewhere else nearby. It wasn't until a few minutes later, that the Osprey showed up at the Miller nest, with a portion of the fish, and he took it to the female on the nest. Then the male took off to continue hunting. So it looks like the male Osprey stopped along his flight path to the Miller nest, and he ate some of the fish himself before giving the remainder of the fish to the female Osprey on the nest.
