Observation details
Apologies for the terrible photo but it shows enough to distinguish this bird from either a pure Black Phoebe or a pure Eastern Phoebe. Lighter overall than pure BLPH, more gray than black, and ragged border between gray and white on breast. Belly seemed to have a very faint tinge of yellow as with Eastern Phoebe, but lighter. This bird did not have the white throat of an Eastern Phoebe and had a more peaked head, though that isn't evident in the photo. I believe the audio recording captures call notes from the hybrid bird, but possibly also the pure(?) Black Phoebe. The Merlin app was reporting both Black Phoebe and Eastern Phoebe on this recording.
