Observation details
I first noted some activity up in the neighboring pine tree, gleaning along the trunk. Then this small nuthatch descended to my feeder tray quickly taking a sunflower seed. It had a very distinct black crown and black eyeline and the breast of course a bold orange/cinnamon color. I'd only ever seen this species in the mountains. It came and went several times feeling secure enough with other feeder birds,
