Observation details
If you want to see these birds you MUST call HIPICO Santa Fe prior to visiting. Woah! First known for species in county. Obvious Pluvialis Plovers. Slender appearance, more so than would be expected from BBPL with a relatively thinner bill. Comparison could be closer to extremely unlikely PAGP. Doesn’t appear to have the more golden tones (speckling more white) of that bird. Bill appears shorter than that species. Two birds in quite different plumages. One seemed to be transiting into alternate plumage while other seemed in full on basic. Initially found and reported by Nick Flanik (thank you!). Photos tba.
