Two successive cuts (from slightly different angles) of a Green-tailed Towhee singing vigorously from a small, dense patch of Apache Plume in our yard. Background includes: Gambel’s Quail, Cactus Wren, Mourning Dove, Wild Turkey, White-winged Dove, a male Black-chinned Hummingbird displaying to a female; distant White-breasted Nuthatch, Mexican Jay, and White-crowned Sparrow; and a persistent Cliff Chipmunk (in second cut). Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
One was singing persistently from inside a dense Apache plume.
