Observation details
May have been 2 (one flashed a red gorget while interacted with the one photographed, but he was high up and I could not get a good look, let alone a photo. He did do a dive display consisting of repeated high dives with a trill at the end, lacking the sharp "Chirk!!" of Anna's. The bird photographed is a smallish female hummingbird with a fairly long bill and buffy axillae and flanks. Rufous color in proximal outer tail feathers. Seemed like too little rufous coloration for Rufous or Allen's. I know this would be very unusual here but photo is provocative to me. Again, this is a private backyard with several feeders.
