Observation details
WL. Photo'd. One of the very few birds on our tour that either was not seen by Victor or was not ID'd at the time until photos proved it was something different later. We were on the canopy walk when this small bird appeared before me. I took several photos (timestamped at 8:39:36 am, 8:39:38 am, and 8:39:38 am) but, as I recall, we were being inundated by several "new birds" at the time and no one was able to get on every bird in the mixed flock this bird was in. First two photos (ML617728221 and ML617728234) here are the same photo, just cropped differently. Photos suggest a bird too small and thin billed for a greenbul (?). The bill appeared rather straight and long based on my photos. A split yellowish eyering, dark legs, and tail shape look good for this species after looking at photos in Macaulay. Habitat is good for this species as was its position (forest, below the canopy) based on Birds of Ghana. I'd be interested to hear alternative IDs of this one.
