Media notes
A Grass Wren sings after playback from a small patch of high-temperate shrub with some Polylepis along planted fencerows with some pretty good pampas-type grass, shrubs, and small flowers in bloom. Background includes: rooster. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, with a Mineroff booster & a Sennheiser series mic with foam windscreen.
Observation details
3400m; recorded; in scrub (puna nearby), cf. lake marsh birds of Sausacocha near Huamachuco, which seemed different in voice and appearance; back with small patch (less extensive) of more contrasting white streaks on black background, richer cinnamon tone, tail also fairly long; ???
