Observation details
Near canyon entrance along Washington Place. Long-winged, greyish empids with white eyerings, small bills, and peaked crowns. At least one bird occasionally giving higher “peep” calls, differing from the softer “whit” of a Dusky Flycatcher, in addition to a few agitated trilling calls. Frequently flying down and landing on the ground for large insects. I had two flycatching side by side for a time but it felt a little like one of the birds was teleporting since one would occasionally appear much further to the left. Finally all three lined up on separate trees simultaneously.
