Observation details
Dull-colored and dull-patterned Scrub-Jay. This bird was observed flying from Green Gate Cottonwoods to an isolated little tree in the scrubland to the southwest. In flight we recognized it as a Scrub-Jay. Fortunately, it landed for distant photos and videos and only after viewing these are we convinced it's not a California Scrub-Jay, which would be more richly blue, have a broader, longer, and whiter supercilium, and more of a mark into the breast from the sides of the breast.
