Observation details
Alerted by wispy 'tink' calls, I saw a waterlogged pair in grass beside water-filled ditch. Before they diasppeared into the grassy tangle, I got a few photos that show that they had pale yellow-orange supercilium and malar stripes, very pale buff side and breast with faint striping, and that the location is a known breeding location for the species. I ruled out Nelson’s because these were very, very drab. I ruled out seaside because the malar was orangish.
