Observation details
Continuing birds, possibly first found in this area by the Trappetts. Observed pair in vicinity of small prairie dog group. They were going in and out of a large prairie dog burrow. They were small (less than a foot tall) brown and white owls with long legs, yellow eyes and white throats/chins. Observed one flare its wings to defend the burrow against a big prairie dog and drive it off.
