Observation details
A fabulous bird and lifer! Large warbler, swimming through leaf biomass and flipping over leaves, to find lots of small critters to eat. Long straight bill, which appeared wrenlike to me. Warm brown back, and wings lacking wingbars. Light undersides, with faint gray on sides, and pale, yellow wash on throat and chest. Beautiful rusty cap, light eyebrow, and pink legs. Occasionally observed taking dainty, walking steps (when feet could be seen). At times vocalizing! Unfortunately, I was without my camera. Although, got poor cell phone photo and BirdNET audio. Ruled out Louisiana Waterthrush by shape of bill, more skulking (under leaves) behavior, overall warmer brown, and lack of steaks on undersides.
