Observation details

This duck was first identified as a Blue-winged Teal but further information determined that it is a hybrid which has been seen at the Palo Alto Baylands since at least March or April 2020 according to eBird checklists located through exploring Hot Spots with the location and hybrid species. Our photos from April 17, 2024, look similar to the photos posted on eBird. We first saw it in a pond in the Harriet Mundy Marsh and then in the larger lagoon.
