Observation details
Heard only, singing, in riparian area at bridge by junction of Lower Hotel Trail and Barn Trail. Familiar varied question-and-answer song phrases, unlike repeated single song phrase of Hutton's Vireo. Sharper quality than slow vireo-like song of Purple Finch, and lacked sweet quality of Warbling Vireo slow song. This bird gave some typical slow-paced songs, and some faster-paced, more jumbled songs consistent with what I have heard from this species a few times before. This recording starts with some slow song phrases, then moves into some more jumbled songs, though the quality of the recording is less than ideal.
