Media notes
between 1.75 sec and 6 sec you can hear a very faint in the background call of a BOOW - unfortunately the loud BARR call makes it challenging to hear the BOOW effectively.
Observation details
A126 - Called (song) once while recording a BARR. Captured about 4.5 seconds of its song in behind BARR call. Listen carefully with high end headphones. I have found, over the years, I rarely hear a BOOW do this vocalization for more than 1 or 2 times before it goes quiet. In rare instances, in this neck-of-the-woods, one might hear it repeat a few more times before going silent. I find the normal length of a single song is about 4 to 5 seconds, which matches this bird.
