About 630 juncos in this photo.
Observation details
The big composite photo shows more than 630 juncos, feeding on the grain that was in several piles in the parking lot (presumably grain that is spilled or leaked from trucks transporting grain). In the row in front there are about 450 juncos (plus a few Savannahs, Grey-crowned Rosy-Finches, and House Sparrows). I chopped this composite photo into four images with better resolution to facilitate counting the juncos. In the very top right hand corner of the composite photo is concentrated group of juncos - when I started photographing those, they were taking off - there are about 180 juncos in that photo (plus a starling and some Grey-crowned Rosy-Finches). So, with 630 countable in the photos, I'm estimating, conservatively, 700 juncos. Possibly 800 - I wish I'd paid better attention! Besides the ones in the photos, there were more on the other side of my car and behind me. Nearly all cismontanus and Oregon.
