Media notes
Audio recorded by Dion Hobcroft. Note from an email - I think it is the male giving the “keee-yurrr”and the juvenile the “whit whit whit”. The latter a sort of begging call.
Observation details
Two adults and a juvenile! Juvenile with white upper chest and throat with prominent dark vertical streaks giving peevish begging call. Adult presumed male calling quite frequently-a loud whistled “tee-youuu”. Excellent perched and in flight views of all three with many photographs taken. Not sure if this species has been confirmed as a breeding resident previously in this region of Mindanao. - Dion Hobcroft. After review by Desmond Allen it was noticed that the underwing pattern on the flying juvenile shots were very different suggesting the presence of 2 juveniles.
