Observation details
First observed flying north across the William Street Bridge with a group of around 25-30 Double-crested Cormorants. Noted the significantly smaller size and seemingly faster wingbeats. The group of cormorants landed in trees with many other cormorants. Viewed the Neotropic from about 0.2 miles away while looking east with good light from the road bordering the western shore of the lake. While perched on a treetop with two nearby Double-crested Cormorants, the Neotropic was obviously smaller, had a slimmer build, and thinner bill. The bird was an immature. Possibly the same bird as reported by Tom Colin in the same location on March 22, 2024, which was also an immature bird.
