Calliope Hummingbird found this morning by Dessi Sieburth and Marty Freeland. Beautiful male Calliope Hummingbird first seen perched deep inside a willow tree between the cul-de-sac and the canal, see edited media. After a short time the Calliope Hummingbird dropped down to the Echium, Pride of Madera, to feed. I barely obtained a partial head and bill shot, see attached media. Male with streaked dark rose feathers radiating gorget, green head and back, pale belly and white line between gorget and eye barely visible in photos. Heard one call during the observation period. Thanks Dessi and Marty for getting the word out!
