Observation details
Brown birds. There's definitely 3 present; quite possibly 4. One seen in central acacia patch skulking and giving 'tok' call & associating with scrubwrens in typical behaviour. As I was about to leave I heard a courtship display song emanating from a Kunzea sp.(?) Myrtaceous shrub adjacent to Leptospermum laevigatum next to central acacia patch. I sat and watched for quite some time, birds very confiding. Display consisted of (presumed) male singing & toking continuously occasionally hopping animatedly with head raised whilst (assumed) female sat still and crouched, consistent with previous courtship observation. Song sound recording attached below (turn volume up; is the toking and squeaking sound, unfortunately there is a lot of sound interference from Rainbow Lorikeets and Pied Currawongs). Song/dance display was keenly observed by a Grey Fantail which sat right next to both birds at times, practically touching them and even snuggling up briefly. Then another PR flew over the displaying presumed male before heading to acacias; so I briefly had 3 in sight at once.
